Getting to Chanters Ridge
Chanters Ridge Vineyard is located about 85km (70 minutes) from Melbourne and 12km from Woodend.
About the vineyard
The vineyard was established by Glenys and Barry Elliott in 1995, under the guidance of John Ellis from Hanging Rock Winery, and is planted exclusively with Pinot Noir.
Our first half-hectare of vines were planted in 1996 on the north facing slope, which comprises red volcanic soil and degrading basalt rock. The original planting reached maturity in 2000 and we picked our first crop of Pinot Noir on Anzac Day, April 25, 2000. An additional 1.5 hectares were added in 1999.
